With the vision of finding “a new Qwixx or The Mind” for the NSC, game editor Christian Hildenbrand will take up his new role at Nürnberger-Spielkarten-Verlag on October 1, 2023. He will be working as a scout for the NSC for the first time at SPIEL’23 in Essen. In future, editorial decisions will be made by Christian Hildenbrand together with the NSV team. According to Managing Director Tobias Husch, the aim is to set the right course for the future now – he is sending his new editor into the race with a clear product strategy. “We are the charming little publisher next door – NSV stands for quick, simple card and dice games for the whole family, this is our DNA and we want to keep it that way,” says Husch. “In Christian, we have absolutely the right new man in our ranks to help our range grow and flourish.
The new member of the team: Christian Hildenbrand
Christian Hildenbrand is 48 years old, married and has 2 children. He has been deeply rooted in the games scene for over 25 years, has extensive experience as a games editor, has been in the profession for over 18 years and has gained his experience as an editor at AMIGO and HUCH! among others.
He sums up his personal vision for and with the NSV as follows: “I have been following the NSV games program very closely since Qwixx and feel very comfortable in the games, especially as a player. The program also appeals to exactly the target group that I myself have always focused on as an editor,” explained Hildenbrand when signing the contract on 20 September. “I want to continue this feel-good factor in helping to shape the NSV program – for myself and for the fans of NSV games. I’m looking forward to playing my way through the game ideas of the authors, to boldly realize exciting concepts and to fill the shoes I’ve been left with.”
Do you have to be a passionate gamer to be a games editor? At the very least, you have to be passionate about what you do – and Christian Hildenbrand is. He personally owns around 6,000 games and plays almost every day. Now it’s time to share this expertise with the NSV – welcome to Team Christian!
